Program Evaluation:
The UMass Donahue Institute's Research and Evaluation Group's
program evaluation services support organizational development,
program management, and oversight. Services include: the design
and implementation of organizational needs assessments; evaluation
of program implementation; and measurement of program outcomes/progress
toward goals. All program development and evaluation services
are customized to meet the requirements of funding sources
and the specific management information needs of the client
organization. Commonly used research methods include surveys,
interviews, focus groups and case studies. |

Market Research:
The Research and Evaluation Group is experienced in the design
and implementation of market research studies. These studies
frequently incorporate the use of surveys, focus groups, case
studies, and available economic and business data. Market
research plans are developed in collaboration with the client
organization to ensure proper alignment between organizational
information needs and the final market research product. |

General Research
Services: The Research and Evaluation Group is experienced
in the development and administration of survey, interview,
case study, and focus group methodologies, as well as in the
research and use of an array of existing government and business
data sources. Each of these research methods may be applied
to a range of information needs. All research instruments
and methodologies are developed in close collaboration with
the client organization and pilot tested to ensure quality
and effectiveness. Surveys and interviews may be conducted
in person, by mail, or by telephone, depending on client needs.

Analysis
and Presentation of Data: The Research and Evaluation
Group offers customized analysis of quantitative and qualitative
data, with an emphasis on the creation of useful information
for clients. Standard research methods are used to generate
results that, depending on the specifications of the client,
may then be presented in the form of written or electronic
reports and face-to-face presentations. These reports and
presentations may range in content from technical overviews
of research results to highly detailed recommendations and
change strategies for the client organization.
